Black-eyed peas in the slow cooker are given a spicy makeover with the addition of cumin, bacon, ham, and jalapeo pepper. Excellent for Lunch!

Black Eyed Peas Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound Black-eyed peas sorted and rinsed
- 6 cups water
- 4 slices Bacon chopped
- 1 onion diced
- 1 cup chicken cubed
- 8 ounces ham diced
- 1 red bell pepper diced
- 2 cloves garlic diced
- 1 jalepeno minced and seeded
- 1½ teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Empty water into a sluggish cooker; add bouillon cube and mix to dissolve. Mix in black eyed peas, ham, bacon, onion, ringer pepper, jalapeño, garlic, cumin, dark pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt.
- Cover and cook on Low until beans are cooked, 6 to 7 hours.
